Side effects of steroids?

Question: im 14 years old, 128 pounds, and have a serious infection in my eye. my docter gave me alot of medication to take including steroids and im really worried about the side effects it might have!can you please tell me what to expect for taking them for about a month, reducing the dose each week?

Answers:
I have been on a high dose of steroids for a period of three years for a bone disease. The reducing dosage you are given for only a month's time is VERY effective and you shouldn't have any side effects. I only noticed side effects when I had been on steroids for 6 months and that was only a slight weight gain.. Don't worry, you'll be fine! :)

If the doctor says you need the (prednisone?) steroids, then take them! Besides you are 14 and are not old enough to make these decisions on your own. You need to just take them.
