You are normal. If this were abnormal, your mother would be taking you to the doctor. In the beginning, periods can be very irregular. In fact, they can be this way throughout your teens. When I was younger, mine came between 25 and 35 days apart once they got going. In the very beginning (I was 11), they were even more sporadic.
Have your mother buy you a book about the changes your body is going through to help you know what to expect and why everything is happening the way that it is. Not only will this make you feel better, it will also give you a point of reference to know when something is NOT normal and when you should go to a doctor.

no, your mom was actually being honest with you. i am 32 and have periods like you are having. understand that your body is just starting menses. it's gonna be irregular for awhile. if it continues however, you can take certain birth control pills that regulate it. every woman is different - don't question it, embrace it!
No, its normal. Your period is supposed to be irregular at the beginning. Your body needs to adjust to it thats why it is irregular. Thats how mine was when i first got it. Trust me its not great it sucks hope that helps. You are completely normal, I didn't start having a period until I was almost 13 (like 3 days before my birthday!), and I had friends that started even later than that. I know it sucks when it seems like you are the only one that doesn't have one yet, but I promise it will come soon enough. And after a while you will probably wish it hadn't! :) Good luck to you, and don't worry.
It is normal for when girls start their period for it to be irregular. And I didn't get my period until I was 13, so don't feel like you're abnormal because you haven't gotten it yet.
i started on christmas day. my mom started @ 16. i bleed irregularly too. be glad. periods are a pain.

Darlin. it is normal. your mom knows this.. she's been through this. It'll come, sweety. believe me you dont wanna rush it. cuz once it comes, its gonna come until you're in your mid40's to mid 50s. well your only 12 i believe that is normal for some girls when u 1st start dont worry till your like 15 i hope i helped ya out a tiny bit
This is normal..girls start at different ages..I was 13 and my sister was almost 15! I had some irregular bleeding only one day..and didn't fully start my cycle til about 4 months later.I'm guessing its just right around the corner for you.and your mom was right!
No, your mom is right. When you're 12, it's normal if the period is irregular, because the body didn't really adjust its self jet. But after about 4 years, you'll see that it comes very regularly.

I had the same thing, but I turned out ok, lol. If you're really thin, your low body fat percentage will make your periods more irregular. If not, it may still take a year for it to get on a normal schedule. Mine was really light and irregular when I started; I didn't even need a tampon most of the time. Often it was just spotting and I could wear just a pantyliner. If you still don't feel good about it, go to a doctor for a professional opinion.
You are normal/!! no need to worry my daughter didn't start til she was well past the age of 13.. so don't rush it.. remember once it does start than you have to deal with that for the next oooh say 50 years.. so be patient.. dont be in such a hurry to grow up. I wish i hadn't..:-)
no its totally normal
and yeah u actually have your period
its just irregular i got it when i was 11
and it was irregualr for a couple of months and then it soon became coming ever month and i didnt use birth control pills
yes, its gonna be irregular as it juss started but after 2/3 years hopefully it will be normal Menarche is another name for the beginning of menstruation. In the United States, the average age a girl starts menstruating is 12. However, this does not mean that all girls start at the same age. A girl can begin menstruating anytime between the ages of 8 and 16. Menstruation will not occur until all parts of a girl's reproductive system have matured and are working together.
its completely normal infact i got my first period when i was 14,,,,,,,,,,,, its absolutely if u still did not had dont worry dear
Don't worry it will come. The real period is when there are lots of blood coming out. I used to have a friend who had her first period when she was already 16 years old and it was normal. Girl. i didn't get my period until this year and i'm 16! i saw a genecolist and she said until the age of 18 it's normal not to get your period for the first time. My mom was worried too, but thats what mom do. Just be lucky you don't have it yet. cause it really sucks.
well if u bled its ur period hun.
yeah tahts normal . .i didn't start mine until i was in 8th grade . it'll be fine .. and if you're really worried about it or still have questions go to beinggirl.com or ask your doctor next time you go there if you haven't gotten it by then.
It is normal. As long as you get your period through the ages o 9-18 you are fine. It will then take about three years for your period to regulate itself.
