Answers:
Sharp pain in the ovary area that gets worse as the period approaches and gets better after the period starts until mid cycle. Very sharp pain. I had one that grew as big as a tennis ball before I went to the doctor and had surgery.

Other Answers:
Well I didn't know I had one until they I started having problems with my old birth control. All I remember is pain on the one side. Then it went away. You should find out for sure
I don't know
Most cysts are never noticed and resolve without women ever realizing that they are there. When a cyst causes symptoms, pain in the belly or pelvis is by far the most common one. The pain can be caused from rupture of the cyst, rapid growth and stretching, bleeding into the cyst, or twisting of the cyst around its blood supply.
Pain that is usually centered on one side and usually has to do with your period coming on. Ultrasound is probably the best way to find out which means going to the doctor first.
Not sure, a friend of my had one and it felt like a little lump through her skin, it also had some funky discharge once in a while.
from my own experiencce: pain on the left side of my lower ab, the pain is not very sharp, but it's constant. I can feel like there is something "extra" hanging in there. It bothers me sometimes when I drive. The doctor says it's normal to have ovarian cyst. It comes and goes in a few months. But you should check with your doctor, he/she will tell you more about it.
Ovarian cysts often cause no symptoms; however when symptoms are present, ovarian cysts may cause a dull ache or a sense of fullness or pressure in the abdomen. Pain during intercourse and at other times can also indicate the presence of ovarian cysts.

Pain or pressure is caused by a number of factors such as size, bleeding or bursting of a cyst which irritates the abdominal tissues, or torsion (twisting of a cyst) which can block the flow of blood to the cyst.

Other symptoms of ovarian cysts which might occur include delayed, irregular, or unusually painful periods.

You don't belive boys have cysts too. Use antiseptic if you want. It is not really necessary to treat and open boil with an antiseptic. It's almost no value, because the infection is localized. The important thing is to keep it draining, I would recommends an OTC antibiotic ointment like Bacitracin Sterile or Neosporin as insurance against infection
All I can say is be careful what you believe and don't believe. I was told 5 years ago that I had cysts on my ovaries. I went in for surgery and was told that I had none, just scar tissue from when my appendix was taken out. Which coincidentally I still have. Now after having another baby who turned a year old in December, I started having the pain again, only this time it is much worse. I went in for another surgery (by another Doc) and was told that I have endometriosis. So be careful which Doc you choose, and do lot's of research on whatever you are told . Make your judgment as well and voice it to your GY before taking any dramatic steps.
