How much does she weigh now and how much does she want to lose?
Height is just one factor in how she will look & feel.
Crash diets are bad because you end up losing muscle. That's what burns up more calories in the first place. If there is less muscle then you gain weight because you don't have the muscle to burn more calories and also you will feel weaker because you have less strength to do everything.
So as hard as it is, Slow and Steady wins the race.
Diet and Exercise, If you measure, count & record everything you eat, time and record your exercise, You will be more aware of what you are doing and probably loose weight and tone up at the same time.
Without knowing your friends weight, How could we know what weight in a picture would inspire her.
