Is it Just me? I currently use Mirena and really have no clue on whether or not it is still there?

Question:
Any one else have this issue?

Answers:
Hey girl! I'm so glad I found this question! I use Mirena IUD also. There is a little string connected to your IUD that is similar to fishing line. The string will come out of your cervix. You should manually check to see if you can still feel the string after each menstrual cycle. If you are like me and you don't menstruate anymore then you should check it monthly. You have to insert a finger or two and feel the opening of your cervix to see if you can still feel this string. Did your doctor ever tell you to do this? If you feel that you don't want to do that then you can go to your doctor's office and have a pelvic exam, but that can be expensive to have it checked like that every month. When you have your yearly pelvic exam you should have your doctor check to see if the string is still there. Your doctor should know that you use an IUD. It is important to know if it is still in place, or it's not serving it's purpose!
if you have already gone back once and had it checked since it was placed, i would not worry about it. they very seldom fall out after the first month or two. have you tried to feel the strings in your cervix-that is how you check for it.
