Yes. Ask your gynecologist about Sarafem, an antidepressant used to control negative symptoms brought on by hormonal changes (PMS). It is taken from day 14-21 in your cycle, and stopped the first day of your period (day 21 usually) so it's 1 week of meds, 2 weeks off. After all, you don't need it most of the month. And the dose is really low, not like the regular antidepressants.
I couldn't handle the PMS so I went back on the Pill. My boss would give me 2 "crazy days" a month because nobody could stand me, not even myself.
I prescribe chocolate.
PMS, honey, PMS. Some doctors will even suggest Prozac for PMS depending on how bad the symptoms are.
