Pariffan ~ Veggie ~ Soy ~ Beeswax: Which do you prefer?

Question:
I dislike the black residue on the jars and walls from pariffan candles!! Plus, they don't hold their fragrance.

Veggie is a combination of soy, veg & beeswaxes. Burns clean & even & holds fragrance to the end of the jar.

Soy doesn't hold its fragrance. Burns clean.

Never used a candle just made of beeswax. ?

Which do you prefer?

Answers:
The black residue is soot. Flames like that will tend to smoke if the air supply is turbulent or intermittent. Many times it is the shape of the container that causes the flame to flicker a lot and create smoke. You can get the same phenomenon in an oil lantern by messing around with the wick; sometimes turning it up too high will cause the flame to go nuts and the increased air flow will cause it to flutter and smoke. I would suspect that a part of the problem of the black residue has more to do with the shape of the container than anything else. The only way to know for sure would be to try burning the candles made of the same type of wax in containers of various sizes and shapes.
