Hi'
You really should get yourself off to the doctor as soon as you can. Severe constipation can cause these problems. I had a similar thing with my son years ago and although he didn't feel constipated he was and he ended up with a twisted bowel and in the hospital with symptoms that were similar to appendicitis. He was 8 then and the pain came on very suddenly. I'm not saying that's the problem, just highlighting that things can be more serious at times than we think. Best not to take chances. You could try a laxative but I would ask the opinion of your pharmacist first, if you can't get to the doctor straight away.

You should go to the doctor. You may be really sick.
my uncle has colon cancer. The first sign of it was his lower back and sides hurt.
That's one of the symptoms of colon cancer. Not saying that's what it is, but it IS something to go to a doctor about.
Could be severe constipation or hemmroids. Either way it's best for a doctor to see you
Maybe its an ulcer..go to a doctor.
many things.
is it bright red.if so, could be hemorrhoids (internal or external) could be an intestinal problem like crohns, or polyps.maybe fissure from passing hard stools
if it is dark red, it is higher up in the gi tract and could be an ulcer or early cancer, polyps
if it dark black and tarry.could be an ulcer
? you need to ask, are you constipated, are you sre that it is coming from your rectum and not your vagina (more problems if there).
best thing..see your md or do
You didn't mention if the blood was bright red or dark red. There is a difference. If bright red, it could be hemorrhoidal in nature or maybe from an anal fissure (small tear). If dark red, it could be coming from the upper gastrointestinal tract and could signal something serious. Since you complain of definitely having pain related to this bleeding, I would contact physician or emergency room immediately. Remember, anything out of the ordinary is "not normal" and needs to be looked into .. just to be on the safe side.

I am a nurse.
This could be due many things such as hemorrhoids, polyups in your colon, colon cancer or a ruptured vein in your colon or small intestine. You need to see a physician immediately and have a Colonoscopy performed. The procedure is not painfull at all, a bit uncomfortable, maybe. Please don't wait. It could be nothing but if it's something serious, the sooner your doctor finds the cause, the easier it is for your doctor to deal with the problem. Please take care..
Well first and foremost go see your doctor, or go to the Emergency Room.
The symptoms you have describes could be many different things. From simple Hemorrhoids to GI Bleed. Any bleeding in that region needs to be checked out.
Some of the questions they will need answers to are.
1) What color is the blood, bright or dark blood?
2) Is there any pain and if so where?
3) Have you been taking any blood thinners (E.g. Aspirin, ect.)
4) Your past medical History, and your social history.
The Physician is also going to want to get some lab work, as well as possibly an ultrasound. I would highly suggest you get this issue dealt with immediately, waiting could complicate the situation.
drdave1666 gave you some good advise.. Listen to him.
