how dose a tens machine work as ive just got one?

Question:

Answers:
When your muscles are stimulated euither naturally or with a TENS unit, the nerves in the muscle tissue release a chemical (endorphins) that have an effect of pain reduction. The TENS unit uses very small electrical current to stimulate the muscles in he affected area. This increases the endorphins in that area only and decreses the pain from that area. Many people have terrific pain relief and muscle relaxation with the use of the TENS unit. Good luck!

Other Answers:
It stimulates muscles to reduce inflammation and pain.

Hi it sends a signal up your spine to signal brain and block pain.

It uses electrical impulses which block and dispurse pain so you don't feel it. I used it in labour 12 weeks ago and found it was good, i had to have more pain relief in the end, but people go the whole way through with just that. the 'vibrations' mean it reduces the pain and inflamation of muscles. my mum has one for her back as she suffers badly with back pain and has found it to be very helpful. the pads need to be stuck on to the affected area. hope thats helped
