Do virgins need smear tests?

Question: The major cause of cervical cancer (which smear tests are there to detect) is HPV, a sexually transmitted infection. As virgins are unlikely to have been exposed to this virus, are they unlikely enough not to get cervical cancer or do they require regular smear tests just to make sure?

Answers:
Getting a papsmear isn't just to check for cervical cancer. and though cervical cancer is caused by HPV, its not the only thing that can cause it. I would get a papsmear just in case, and a physical along with it to check general health, breasts, and reproductive health.
