I don't know too much about drugs, I hope that epilepsy doesn't bring you down
Oddly enough medications like this cant ACTUALLY BE TESTED ON WOMEN THAT ARE PREGNANT. I looked it up on DRUGS.COM and it says if youre THINKING OF BECOMMING PREGNANT OR ARE PREGNANT you might want to CONSIDER THIRD OPTION. You CANT GO WITH ANTI CONVULSION MEDS THAT WILL HARM BABY TOO.
If you are on tegretol.the last thing you want to do is to concieve. Tegretol causes the most damage to a fetus in the first 30 days.do not get pregnant while taking tegretol.
my son takes tegretol and the nuerologist told me it can effect his sperm and could possibly cause problems with fertilizing an egg. but he is in his early teens. I am not sure if it is long term or short term you might want to talk to your doctor. good luck
Have never seen any documentation to suggest it would interfere with child bearing.. there would be danger to the child in utero should you be taking this med during pregnancy..
Do you know what caused the epilepsy? I had epilepsy from a bad car accident when I was a teenager. I took a powerful anticonvulsant for 6 years. The doctors said that my condition would remain the same for the rest of my life. Then I went to a good chiropractor who adjusted the top two vertebrae in my neck. That was the end of the epilepsy and the end of the drug. Please look into this, especially if the seizures could possibly have been caused from an accident, a fall, or some difficulty at birth.
