Depends what type of migrane it is and what type you get, I had really bad ones where they would get so bad I would throw up and couldnt look at light. They gave me imitrex for about 2 years then I got an operation that relived some of the pressure in my brain that was causing it. But if you are the type that dont get them often you may want to try excedrine migrane, the combination of pain reliver and caffine helps quickly with migranes.
First I take two excedrin. Then I get a pack of ice for my head and neck. Then I make some peppermint tea and take it to my bedroom. I turn off all the lights, music, tv and tell everyone to be quiet. Then I drink the tea, put the ice pack on and try to sleep.

Myself. I have been dealing with migraines for 15 years.
Personally, I get auras before the actual migraine so I know to take 3 ibuprofin or 3 aleve and maybe some coffee, and it heads it off.
by eating sweets ,chocolates containing caffeine.
it depends on the type of migraine you have. If you have a migraine that goes into neck but not your shoulders or if over the counter meds. don't help you should see your Dr.
