I went to my gyno about a missed period and he gave me birth control pills, do I take them now ?

Question:
It says to wait until day one of your period or the sunday after.. I dont know if I should start them now anyway ? Does anyone know if I should and what would happen with my period if I did?

Answers:
If you have missed a period, I would buy a home pregnancy test and take it (if you are sexually active) before I started birth control pills. If it's negative, I would begin taking them this Sunday, because the missed period then means that your hormones are unbalanced and the pills will regulate your periods.

Other Answers:
no no NO!! you HAVE to take them in 7 to 8 weeks!!

Follow the directions and start them on the first day of your next cycle.
