YES IT IS TRUE that you don't tend to bleed while you are in the water such as taking a shower or bath. It slows down tremendously or even goes away. It also depends on how long you've been on it, because if this is day 1, monitor it first to see how heavy it is, and then go from there. Yes, have on one when you get there, take it off while you're in the pool (to make sure there are no surprises) and replace it with another one once you get back in the pool. And no people don't know that you're ON it. Some may be curious if you're cranky. Plus the chlorine in the water will help eliminate any bacteria if you're worried. The choice is still yours. But no one has to know it but you. Enjoy your party tonight :)

I think it depends on how heavy your period is. If it's light, I think it won't be a problem to go swimming, but don't stay in the water too long, just to make sure! Or go to the bathroom every now and then to wipe "it" off.
(why can't you wear tampons? You won't feel them, especially not the small ones.)
I always thought that the cold water shocks your body and stops the bleeding for a while. Plus, everything I ever read told me the same thing. HOWEVER, once I went swimming in the sea, and I definitely DIDN'T enjoy a break in my period. Just so you know - my personal experience. Unless you like the idea of putting your menstrual blood into your unwitting friend's mouths.. I'd suggest skipping the swimming or learning to like tampons really fast.
Even if you didn't bleed while in the water (which to be honest I don't know if it's true or not) to and from the washroom to the water, or every time you got out of the water, you would.
Oh hun, I wish I knew. See, pads are very absorbent, so it's likely they would puff up in the water and everyone would see it. I hate tampons, but I've always worn one when in swimming. Is it possible you could wear one just for tonight? They come pretty small nowadays for younger girls. I don't know about not bleeding in the water. I heard that fresh or lake water stops the bleeding, but I've never tried it myself. I imagine if it did stop, you would start almost as soon as you stepped out of the water. Good luck dear.maybe you could fake a sprained ankle, LOL? YOU WILL BLEED IN THE WATER!!
TRUST ME I HAVE DONE THAT!
why can't you wear a tampon if you are old enough to have your period then you are old enough to use a tampon!
they don't hurt
don't worry about the party! just wash yourself well before getting into the water. its absolutely true that u dont bleed in water. why don't u try to wear something thick in the water rather than just a swimsuit, just 4 precaution? and something dark as well. and wear ur pad until u reach the venue of the party and remove it only wen u r getting in the water. and then when its time to go home, just wear the pad immediately. u'll bleed more after you come out of water. take care! and have ablast at the party! y dont u just go to the party n when u want to go in the pool, put on a tampon cuz if u wear a pad in the pool, people WILL notice n it will look discusting! so unless u want 2 rewin your swimming suit bottoms by not wearing any thing n get imbarest by others there, i sugest u wear a tampon! Because thats groose if u dont wear any thing in the pool! Especially if there are going to be alot of poeple thier.
Well, I never done anything like that and I hate you can't wear a tampon while in the water cause that would be the best especially if you are heavy because you wouldn't know how your body would react in the water.
PLEASE! REPORT ME!
I wouldn't recommend swimming without a pad but you can't swimm with a pad either.
Have you tried Tampax Pearl? I can't use just any brand of tampax either. Even Tampax brand except the Pearl, I can't. You may want to give it a try if you have not done so.
no body can see you online than why the hell do you want answers from only WOMEN & GIRLS while some of the boys can answer better if you would have addressed to us all I wouldnt risk going with nothing
you might be fine
you might not
it kind of depends on how strenuously you will be exercising
don't take aspirin for pain.it thins your blood
a pad is pretty gross after wearing it in the pool, after all, it is designed to soak up liquid
you really need to experiment with different types of tampons
and find one that works well for your body
even after wearing a tampon in the pool you will need to change it immediately. same thing, they are designed to soak up liquid
good luck :) u have to wear tampons. make sure that u get the junior lites with a rounded tip.
