Question:

Answers:
The normal level for a women is not pregnant is 20 ng/ml (nanograms per mililiter). Prolactin levels vary throughout the day. The highest levels occur during sleep and shortly after you wake up. Prolactin levels increase during times of physical or emotional stress and during sleep.
High levels of prolactin (usually higher than 200 ng/mL) may indicate a pituitary gland tumor (prolactinoma). In general, the higher the prolactin level, the more likely a pituitary gland tumor is present. If/ when testing the levels of prolactin, birth control ads well as other drugs may affect it, but i think they all weight neutrally.
