If there is any chance of her having been "exposed", she very well could be pregnant. Possibly even an ectopic pregnancy,
(which, by the way can be extremly dangerous). Then again I have seen women have a normal period throughout their entire prenancy; with no ill effects.
My personal opinion is to keep going to different doctors until you find one that doesn't stop until they find out exactly what is wrong.
