I got a tetanus shot on Friday and.?

Question:
now my gland in my neck is sore, its on the same side as the arm ,is this normal?

Answers:
Yes it is totally normal. The "gland" on your neck that is sore is a lymph node that is enlarged due to multiplication of B type lymphocytes into plasma cells which are releasing antibodies against the tetanus toxoid/toxin. It would be weird if you didn't have a swollen lymph node after this type of vaccination.

Call your dr.

Well, immunizations are usually either live or dead organisms of the virus so your body should easily be able to overcome them but will recognize it as being a bad thing in the future. If it continues to be sore then you should probably at least call your doctor and see what he thinks and if he wants to schedule you for another appointment. i don't know

iv never heard of that call your doctor

yes, I had the same problem but, I also had a nice pretty purple bruise to go along with it. It went away in a couple of days and everything was back to normal. hope you feel better..

call your doctor
