What year was the first tampons made in?

Question:

Answers:
There is evidence which suggests that women have been using tampons made of various materials for thousands of years. The tampon with an applicator and string was invented in 1929 and submitted for patent in 1931 by Dr. Matthew Martin, an American from Olney, Maryland. Tampons based on Dr. Martin's design were first sold in the U.S. in 1936.
Good Luck!
Comercially, I think around the 1950's.

I think some women probably used home made units long before that for convenience. Just like Tipp-ex (correction fluid), Kleenex and many everyday items these things started off as home inventions.
It was invented in 1929. Patented in 1931. And first sold in 1936.

But yes, I agree that women most likely have been using homemade devices for ages past. With such a common and major inconvience in life, of course they'd try to comeup with solutions.
