Mammograms. What is the age for recommended first?

Question:

Answers:
The American Society of Radiology suggests that you have a screening mammogram at age 40 currently. If you have a close family member who has had breast cancer, you should talk with your Physician about further screening to include yearly mammograms, and ultrasound to eliminate the possibility that you may have a cancer. In certain high-risk populations, bi-yearly mammography is helpful. Peace, TJ

Other Answers:
30 for a baseline then after 40 unless you have risk factors

I agree with the above answer. 30 for a baseline.

One a year after 40 if you have risk factors, in addition to monthly self-check and yearly doctor visit.

I suggest one every 2 years from 40 to 50 if you don't have risk factors and you self check - cause they are a pain.
