I had a back fusion as a 8 year old and I just found out I cannot have an epidural when I have kids.?

Question:
Has anyone else heard of this? I was told that if the doctor that operated on my back is present, i can have the epidural. The problem is wiht scar tissue in my back, precisly where the epidural is given.

Answers:
If the fusion is on the vertebrae where the insertion point is you are hosed.

You can't get the needle and tube where it is supposed to go.

May God bless you with a delivery of a healthy child and with a short memory of the pain you will end.

Other Answers:
better plan on doing it the old fashioned way. Oh, well, it's not that bad and it IS worth it. Just take Lamaze classes.
That is true. Most doctors won't TOUCH you if you've had previous back surgery by someone else. Unless the doctor who previously worked on your back in present or the one giving the epi.
You may want to have him on call in the even you do need an epidural.
I've heard that about tramp stamps also.that you cannot get an epidural.
Why do you want an epidural? I had both my children natural .Woman have been having babies for thousands of years with out medience. You will be fine.
oh ok. never heard of that but ok. i would'nt get pregnant if i was you.maybe you should adopt. birth will be extremely painful without it.
