a knot inside your breast or just a lump. if you find one, get it checked out as soon as possible. a lump could also be breast Fibrocystic disease or a cyst but get a mammogram breast check to be sure and safe. I lost my mom and my grandma to breast cancer : (. good luck. Be safe!!

Other Answers:
You're looking for a hard lump of any size that does not feel like your breast is supposed to. Could just be a hard knot, could be painful or not.

http://www.komen.org/bse/ I don't think you can tell whether a lump is cancerous or not by just feeling it but any unusual lumps should be check out. I have had lumps in my breast when I am on my period that turns out just to be benign.
