What are signs of a uti?

Question:

Answers:
It depends. I just got back from the doc and found out I had an upper UTI, and only felt sick and slight kidney pain. However I have had many lower UTI's and these are much easier to detect. Trust me you will know if you have one, they suck. You feel like you have to constantly pee but when you go it burns and only a little comes out. You have a constant pain right where your bladder is and it hurts. Also there can be some blood in the urine and itchiness down there. If you don't get on antibiotics and have one, it WILL go up to your kidneys and then they will get infected and that pain is much worse! Once you get one you are always prone to them so you have to try and prevent them the best you can. Some ways to prevent them are

Urinating at least 20 minutes after sex(this is because when you have sex bacteria is pushed up there and doesn't come out until you pee.

Don't wear underwear to bed(this inhibits bacteria from growing in a tight dark place)

Don't use any shower gels or soaps with fragrances. You can use natural fragrances but that's it. This is how I used to get all of mine. The fragrance strips away your good bacteria and can't fight off the bad.

Also very important, drink cranberry juice. If you are like me and don't like it then mix it with water.
