girly question?

Question:
i'm on my period right now, and from time to time, i leak out a huge clump of blood, about 1/3 the size of my fist. my period also comes once every 40, 45 days, at the beginning of one month and then the end of the next month, cycling like that. is this normal?

Answers:
That huge clump is normal, it's just a lump of uterus lining. Your cycle is irregular, but nothing to be concerned about if you can tell when you're going to get it, i.e. " beginning of one month, end of the next, every 40-45 days" You've got it pin-pointed, but if you're still concerened, go to the gyno.

Other Answers:
Are you just starting your period? Because when I started, my first few were spaced like yours. Or you're luckier than others with the spacing, it differs sometimes. Clumps of blood is normal, they're just blood clots. They can be huge.

I think it depends on your age. The same thing basically happens to me sometimes, like in the winter mostly. I am 15, and I think it is because my body is still trying to regulate itself. That is just what I think it is, so I think it is normal, especially if you got it like 1-3 years ago. If you are just starting with your periods sometimes they need a little time to get regular if this continues see you doctor.

no thats not really normal for the clump. but if u just started it is normal to be going every 40 to 45 days. its not gonna be normal until u have been on ur period for about a year or two. but u need to tell a doctor about the clumps u get. because thats really not normal.

good luck!

According to age, probably. The huge clump of blood is the lining of your uterus. It "sheds" off every time you have your period. I'm assuming you are fairly young. I was irregular in my teen years. Sometimes I would skip a month or two also. sounds like a hormonal problem. I had the same problem until I started using natural progesterone cream. It's been 6 months and my periods are starting to be lighter and on a more regular schedule. I'm not a doctor, so i would suggest talking to a gyn first. good luck!

If I was you, I'd go on the pill to regulate my periods and possibly make them less severe. Of course, if you are under age 18, this might be a sensitive subject to broach with your mom. But if you explain that big clump and uncomfortableness, then she may take you to a Gynecologist to help you out. Good luck!

see a gynecologist

everyones cycle is different, and this may be "normal" for you

even if this is your normal, if it troubles you, there are things that can be done about it

take with you to the doctor a list of the whens and hows of your menstrual cycle so that they can give you good suggestions on what can be done

dont panic, just seek information from your doctor. that's what they are there for

Planned Parenthood is a really good resource for low cost health care for women. they are super helpful. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Clumps are just clumps of blood from the uterus walls, nothing too unusual. Also, your cycle being 40 to 45 days is also something you shouldn't worry about. Women can have some pretty wild cyles sometimes, ranging from 20-45 days and whatnot.
Before I went on the pill to help regulate my period, it would come anywhere from 30 to 40 days, and sometimes even 45 days.

Going on the pill does help regulate that, and let you know exactly when you should expect that monthly joy. It also makes it lighter.
