What are the symptoms of food poisoning and what are the cures and what foods do I eat to get better?

Question:

Answers:
Symptoms of food poisoning depend on what type of food poisoning you have. Most typically, food poisoning is caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites, such listeriosis, salmonella, Norwalk virus, staph, E. coli, and others. Typical symptoms of these are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and sometimes fever.

If your symptoms are short lived (vomiting and diarrhea) and you believe the food poisoning comes from a reasonably small quantity of food you've eaten (eggs, potato salad, tacos, etc.) you may be able to let the food poisoning run its course. Drink lots of fluids - water, GatorAde, Pedialyte, apple juice, or liquid jello (avoid red jello, though) - whatever you can hold down - and get plenty of rest. Once the vomiting has stopped, introduce foods slowing - bread, rice, applesauce, and tea. There have been recent studies that have shown that red wine has been useful in reducing some symptoms of food poisoning, if you drink the wine soon after ingesting the tainted food. Don't use anti-diarrheal medicines, such as Imodium, though. Antidiarrheals can make the food poisoning worse. Plus, you want the poison out of your system!

If your vomiting and/or diarrhea is severe or lasts more than 24 hours (or you can't hold down any liquids), see your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. Some forms of E. coli, such as O157:H7, cause such severe diarrhea and vomiting, that can result in kidney or liver damage, total system failure, and rare, often fatal blood disorders such as HUS or TTP.

If your food poisoning comes shortly after eating low acid canned foods such as beans or mushrooms, or foods whose ingredients include garlic-flavored oil, go to the hospital immediately. A single drop of botulinium can cause central nervous system damage, paralysis and even death.

The same holds true for ANY food poisoning if your immune system is suppressed or you are pregnant.

A good general rule of thumb is this: When in doubt, go to the doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry.

vomiting, fever, chills, diarea, the only cure is sleep and to get the food out of ur system, and try eating light things like crackers and toast. drink heaps of water also to keep ur fluids up so u don't get dehydrated, those sports drinks are pretty good aswell if u are vomiting keeps the glucose in ur body
Well, symptoms of food poisoning are usually a chronic stomach pain leading to vomiting. You can also have diarea too.

Eat crackers and light things such as toast. You might want to stay on the blan side of foods. And if you are vomiting, try drinking lots of water and sport drinks.
I think it depends on what kind of food poisoning you have.as for cures, doesn't it cure itself, unless it's a serious one in which case you should be seeing a doctor?
