Typically how long did you spot after getting the Mirena IUD?

Question:
I'm going on three months now and it's getting annoying!

Answers:
During the first three to six months, you may have irregular and frequent bleeding as your body adjusts to the IUD. After that, your bleeding will most likely become lighter and less frequent. After six months of use, about half of women stop having periods, although light spotting occurs on average about three days per month. After one year of use, 20 percent of women stop having periods altogether.

Other Answers:
Nurse Annie is right. I had bleeding for about 4 months and now I rarely have a period. I have had the Mirena for 3 1/2 yrs. and it is great!
