I Elevated Liver ENZYMES.... Why?

Question:
I HAVE SEVERAL BLOOD TEST DONE AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHY. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SPECIALIST ON THE 11TH OF SEPTEMBER. BUT MY LIVER ENZYMES LEVELS ARE 136 (AND I GUESS NORMAL IS BETWEEN 0 AND 60). I HAVE BEEN TESTED FOR HEP AND MY RESULTS CAME BACK GOOD. I AM NOT A DRINKER EITHER (HONESTLY I CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I ACTUALLY DRANK). SO I DO NOT KNOW HOW OR WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. I ALSO DO NOT HAVE A FAMILY HISTORY OF LIVER PROBLEMS. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE TRYING TO HAVE A BABY (NO LUCK YET) BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT MANY MEDICATIONS ON THE MARKET TO OVALATE SOMEHOW AFFECT THE LIVER TOO. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME? EVEN MY LIVER ULTRASOUND CAME BACK GOOD. WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM?

Answers:
Medications like Tylenol will also elevate your enzymes...the liver is the toxic clearinghouse for the body...so a lot of meds can cause elevated enzymes. Mine always are elevated too..as long as all your ultrasound came back ok, you don't drink a lot, no hepatitis, jaundice, ect...you should be fine...but definitely see the specialist. I went thru all the tests..they told me some people just have higher levels...that was 20 yrs ago...and I'm still kickin' lol gl to ya :)

Other Answers:
Maybe you just have a heavy fatigue. You should relax and take break from your routines, don't think anything about your lab results for a while.
In my country there is traditional remedy for elevated liver function it called Curcuma xanthorhyza.
Depending on the type of enzymes, certain proteins are elevated by your lifestyle
for example, smoking increases certain types of cytochromes responsible for degrading some toxins & drugs
Overexposure to other drugs or even underexposure can sensitize liver cells to produce more enzymes so they can clear your system at a normal rate
You sound like a healthy female, i wouldn't say that there's anything "wrong" with you, and i wouldn't consider some different numbers to be a problem until you're told otherwise
