I'm 5 months pregnant; how bad will serious stress affect my pregnancy?

Question:
VERY stressed out nearly 24/7. Is stress really THAT harmful to your pregnancy?

Answers:
Yes. I will tell you from personal experience that it will. While I was pregnant, my husband had a 6 month affair and my mother died and I HATED my job. Talk about stress. I tried to eat right and do the best thing for my child but he was tiny when he was born, healthy but tiny. I think it was due to all the stress I was under. Try your best to forget the stressful things, eat right, get plenty of rest and take care of that baby the best way you know how because when that baby gets here you may experience even more stress dealing with a newborn. Keep smiling and take care of your self

Other Answers:
It can lead to miscarriege. Other problems are found with it. Try google for such things as professional questions.

It all depends on how well you handle the stress normally. If you are able to tolerate fairly well evrything should be okay but I would definitely talk to your doctor about it. Given that a fetus also feels your emotions, you are potentially creating a child who will have some emotional issues as it grows older - many people go through stress when they are pregnant, and then they wonder why for the next 20 years why their children are so high strung.

Yes, definitely, I miscarried my 3rd pregnancy due to extreme stress caused by a natural disaster.

Please do whatever you have to, protect yourself and you baby before it's too late.

And also, what Jonjon said is true, too.

yeah, sister was stressed, kid turned out to be weird and gay,now he lives with his boyfriend. Her other kids are normal. Its all about chemicals your body gives off to the off spring. With my last baby I was very stress out and yes it did affect my baby Please relaxes for the baby
What you feel the baby feel as well be careful

What are you so stressed about? Do you have someone you can share your concerns with? Stress in not good over the long term,
You need a support system. Maybe there are some organizations that can help with whatever is stressing you out so badly. could lead to major problems, for yourself and the baby. Get bed rest, stop worring all the time, you have and angel looking over you, everything will work out baby girl, they always do.
