ummmm..i am kinda confused. I think I am having my period?

Question:
Helpful tips to help me. I am 13 and this will/would be my first period. Tips?

Answers:
Well, welcome to HELL, sweety. I've had mine for 10+ years and it's no picnic. Go take you some tylenol or midol because cramps will kick in soon. Put a maxi pad in your underwear to keep from making a mess. And in about two days if you still have it take a nice hot bath and it will help shorten the length of your period. MAke sure you take a shower every night or if you have time twice a day, staying clean during yout period is VERY important. Good luck hon!

Other Answers:
ask your mom.
she'd be excited and pleased.

talk to your mom. Hasn't you mom had the talk with you yet?If not,its long overdo.

well ye back will stsrt to hurt you really bad, then you proble get stomach pains like cramps thats when ye no there coming

You need to ask your Mom or an adult you trust. 13 is definitely time for your period.

talk to yer mom about it. trust me you will totally understand that its completly normal after that. and umm well if you have cramps take midol, that works the best. and umm get a pad or a tampon, i would recommend a pad first because you need to know how to insert a tampon correctly. yah. call your mom on the phone or talk to a sibling or af riend

Well if your having period-like occurances and you're not getting your period, then something is seriously wrong. My suggestion, ask a parent or sibling, or perhaps a trusted friend. Don't ask the guy next door with the candy and the binoculars.

talk to your mom when she gets home.
if you cant wait then give her a call.
she'd be happy to hear you bring it up and didnt hide it from her.

It is harder to sleep at night, so get situated before falling asleep, and the second and the third day are the worste, sometimes the first is pretty bad. But once you get past day 3 you wont even know it is there. You should go to your mom for advice in this, since your mom has already experianced puberty. If she doesn't want to help you, you can always look in books. The best is to go to shoppers drugmart and buy a tampon or a maxipad.

Good luck

When girls first start their period, a lot of unsual things can happen, like getting it every other week, not getting it for 2 months, or getting it for a longer time. This is a normal part of puberty, the cycle is getting ready to become just that, a cycle and it can take up to a year to be a steady thing, for some woman it never does. She may just be a girl who is going to have a heavy period to deal with.

As she gets older there are options she can take to control it, like oral contraceptives.
If she is showing no other signs, like being extremely lethargic, getting sick to her stomach and such, I would just keep an eye on her, although calling your doctor to get an opinion is always a good idea. You may want to talk to some of the women on her father's side of the family to see if this is normal for them. That way you will be able to determine if this is the way it is going to be with her, or if its something she may grow out of.
