Answers:
Sounds like a panic attack/anxiety attack to me. I have had a couple, usually triggered by something in anticipation.

I feel kinda like my heart is in my throat, like a feeling of dread, my palms get sweaty, my heart races and I feel like I am going to pass out.

Your right it is a horrible horrible feeling. I am much older that you, I teach school but the first time I had this was at school/work. I was 48 years old and I actually thought I was having a heart attack. What brought it on was the anticipation of having a problem with a student in a class that was about to start.

What helps me know is being able to recognize the symptoms as they are about to come on. Once you have identified your concern you are better able to cope. Also taking a deep breathe, and a sip of water.

Hang in there girl, glad you are feeling better now. KUDOS to you!
