Before you panic, ( since these are scary responses) a few things. . . .
Yes, Blood in your stool is bad, but its not as bad if its bright red. ( The difference is that Blood from higher in your colon will have turned MUCH darker than the bright red from you rectum)
If you are straining at all, then that can cause it. .. .also, differences in diet can affect how dry your skin is, which can cause it to crack more easily. ( If you are cutting down on fats, or losing weight)
It also could be Hemorroids, which would REALLY hurt.
