Answers:
please don't take that. my friend got ovarian cancer from only 3 shots. and another friend took it once, and her baby is blind. it is dangerous. try taking the patch or the pill.
both friends have said they used to spot a lot when they took the shot.
Other Answers:
I personally have never been on it, but 4 of my friends bled for the first 6 months straight and then never got their period again until they went off of depo.
recent studies have shown that over time, the depo shot can cause irreversable bone loss, dont take it anymore!
well my periods stopped but I weent from 154 to 175 weight gain and i stopped the depo then started the patch cause i lost the weight and since i was thin again i could use the patch stayed on the patch 2mos and boom.. now i got a patch baby and he is 2 yrs old honey im sticking with the pill
I was on it for about 3 years. At first, I had normal bleeding flow-wise, but it continued for longer than a normal period. Then after a few months or so, I got NO bleeding whatsoever, not a droplet, for close to 3 years. It was great! It also made my breasts grow a bit, which was a bonus as well! Just be careful with how long you stay on it regarding having children. Talk to your doc for sure.
Good luck!
I've been on for two years and it's been good. I've had spotting towards the time i'm supposed to get my shot again which is every 3 months but other then that it's been good. But with my hospital you can only be on it for 3 years and they have you switch birth control. Good luck and hoped i helped a little. Also talk to you doctor if you have any other concerns.
I have been on it for over 4 years now. I haven't had a period since. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They are just finding out now that prolonged use could prevent you from ever having children. Also it causes osteoporosis. I have to go in and get a bone density scan every six months.
I have been on it...It caused me to gain about 20 lbs in no time and i did have a lot of break through bleeding. I don't recommend it.

I was on it..I had 2 shots. The first one I gained 15 pounds(im very petite) then my 2nd one i bleed for 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT! that stuff should be taken off the market and it will decrease your sex drive and libido. I learned this at my new gyno office.
I took it for 3 months and didn't have a period at all during that time. When I stopped taking it, I had 7 periods in 2 months. I saw the Dr and she said it's normal for a woman's system to be very irregular after stopping depo.
You lose bone density when on depo, I don't recommend it.
i have been on it, i haven't been able to have a full term pregnancy since, and i didn't have any period the entire time i was on it.. do some research on it. it has really messed up alot of women.
My doctor recomended that I not take it regularly for more than a year. The hormones in it can cause some health risks. I have friends that take it every other year and something else in between. Me, I just use the patch. I didn't have nay bleeding with that, as I did when I was on the shot. I also bled a lot on the pill.
I've been on Depo for about 3 months now and I think it's great. I'm due for my second injection in a few days and the only bleeding I had was a little spotting a couple of weeks ago. Keep in mind that Depo is different for everyone due to the chemical make-up of the body. While some women may experience horrible side effects, others (like me!) experience little or no side effects. My doctor told me that due to the risk of bone loss, Depo shouldn't be used for more than 2 years unless no other method of contraceptive is right for you. If you do decide to get the shot just be sure to take a multi-vitamin and calcium supplements.
