Oh my God PLEASE HELP ME!!!?
Question:
Answers:
Gall bladder removal is a very common procedure with little or no complications. Usually all that is needed for healing is a special diet. Your mom is going to be OK. My mom and my aunt both had their gall bladders removed and they said it's a LOT easier than childbirth.

Don't worry. These days gall bladder surgery is a lot safer than years ago. It is generally a day surgery and done by laser and only a few small incisions.
It's a simple, quick surgery. You don't even need your gall bladder. She'll be fine.
Yes, please don't worry. A person does not need her gall bladder and the surgery is simple, and is usually done as a minimally invasive procedure. What that means is, the surgeon will likely make three (or possibly four) very small incisions and use what are called endoscopic instruments to remove the gall bladder. The incisions may take 1-2 stitches each when the procedure is over, some may simply need a bandage. Check with your mom or her doctor to see if this is how the surgery is going to be performed. If it is not to be minimally invasive, I would recommend finding a surgeon who will do a minimally invasive procedure.
Your mom's smoking history does complicate things a bit, but her age and weight should not be big factors. Because of her smoking history and age, it may take her a little while longer to heal than someone who is younger and a non-smoker, but she should be okay.
I will pray for you and your mother that the procedure goes well and that you are both at peace. May God bless and keep you.
settle the hell down kid....its laser surgery and take an hour or 2...it's not a brain tumor...dang
pray and let god work his wonders. worrying won't help you or the situation out at all.
My mom had the same procedure done. its very non-invasive and she should be home in a day or so. it is very common to have done, and is not dangerous at all. dont worry, shell be alright.
just pray that everything will be ok
they remove a gall bladder and you can go home the same day - without sleeping in the hospital
it is a very common surgery - don't worry
BUT .... she will be very sore .. and will need you a lot :-)
Chill out.. my mom had her gall bladder removed a few months ago. It's a very routine surgery.. if she goes in for surgery the morning, she will be out of the hospital and back home by the late afternoon. That's how easy it is. She will probably not feel too good for a week or two, but she will be just fine. Don't worry!
P.S. - your gall bladder is a vestigal organ... meaning that it's a useless organ your body doesn't even need, like your tonsils.
Don't worry hun, gall bladder surgery is done these days by making 3 or 4 tiny holes into the abdomen and when it's over all they have left is no pain and bandaids to cover the holes.
my mom is 47, a smoker and just had her's out about a month ago. she was up and moving within a week and out of the hospital in 2 days. you can help her by supporting her and keeping her spirits up. my mom had her surgery on my bday and all she thought of was me, it was heartwarming. she'll be ok. this is really a ruotine surgery, nothing major.
its a simple procedure, the do it by laproscopic,3 small incisions, patients even go home the same day in some cases, your mom will be alright, don't worry.
First off, calm down.
You say your mom MIGHT have to have her gall bladder removed. Wait until you know for sure to be scared, and then don't be scared, because these days, it's a rather routine surgery.
As for what you can do for her...try prayer, it's been known to work miracles.
Gall bladder removal surgery is a rather routine surgery. Few people have complications from it (though there is a chance of something in EVERY surgery). Most people recover from it in a couple of weeks, and often leave the hospital in just 3 or 4 days. Most effects are dietary, and I am sure she will feel much better once it is gone, since it is probably causing her a great deal of pain right now.
it is VERY COMMON. it is not a serious surgery. many women have to have their gall bladders out esp after giving birth. you can live without it and never notice. it is not any more dangerous that removing an appendix or almost as easy as your tonsils. honestly, she will be OK, during and after. smoking doesn't matter, and underweight is even better, as not a lot of risk with blood pressure etc that comes with overweight surgery. look it up online. it is ok. don't be scared. really
Any surgery is risky, but the Doctor should be able to answer your questions & concerns. No matter what the surgery is about, I make it a point to always say "I Love You" & bury any ill will that you have with the person who is sick, just in case they don't make it! I am 53 & I feel your pain, but there is nothing you can do except hope for the best, be supportive, love your Mother & let her know it (no matter what), & pray if you are that type of person. Just try to be there for her, but don't smother her. Tell her how you feel & I'll bet you'll find that she is more afraid than you are, but we Mothers don't want to let our children know we are scared because it means we must admit we are sick or older than we want to admit! This could help you & your Mother to start communicating on an ADULT level, rather than you just being the child. I hope she pulls through this & I hope you can relax & not worry so much. Deal with loss when it comes (IF it comes).
My mom had two severe attacks and almost had to get it removed, and it scared the **** out of me. But now that I am older I would not be so worried. Surgons are getting better, and the golbladder is very small. And if you want your mom to live longer influence her to quit smoking and then i bet the weight will just come back on. And chooose healthy eating and exercising.
I know you're really scared. If my Mom was having surgery, I would be scared out of my mind. But, try your best to stay calm. You're Mom needs you right now, and she's probably really scared as well. Having your gall bladder removed isn't the end of the world. She'll most likely be very sore for a few days, but she'll be okay. As for her smoking and weight issue, the surgeons who are doing her surgery should know everything about her like if she smokes, or drinks, or if she's over/underweight. They've thought about how the best way to do this is. Trust that they know what's best for her. Pray. That's very comforting to me. Stay strong, be brave, and relax. I know it's hard but it'll be alright. Good Luck to both you and your mom. :)
