what would cause?

Question:
the vein in your leg to throbb real bad, should i get it checked, it does not stick out much ,but i can see it, some times it feels like it is burning there also,

Answers:
A throbbing painful vain anywhere is a sign that it needs to be checked . It can be anything from a varicose vain, Deep Vain Thrombosis (DVT, blood clot) to an aneurysm. Get it checked as soon as possible. The ER may be a good idea in this case.

Other Answers:
Definitely call the doctor!

sometimes there is a muscle spasum there that can cause the vein to show alot, but if the pain becomes to much for you to handle or you think that it might be something more, it wouldn't hurt just to have it looked at. You could have varicose veins. Have a Dr. check it.

i could just be poor circulation, they will just tell you to walk or jog more often, nothing they can really do

Sounds like a busted blood vessel.

Yes, could be serious like a blood clot trying to warn you. I am not saying that is what it is, but please get it checked ASAP! Don't take chances! u should check up

all you can do just seat down as much as you can with your feet up this will help very much and go see your doctor

could be a condition called thrombophlebitis. could be serious.

I think you should get it checked because I work out all the time and even when I'm squatting heavy weight I never feel anything throbbing in my leg well good luck with that yes go right away. there is a blood clot in a vein that can kll you. It's called deep vein throm? something. Maybe someone else knows the rest of that word.

maybe a blood clot, get it checked!

I am anxious to see the answers posted here because I have the same exact problem. I gave birth 9 months ago and I thought it was something from the pregnancy but I still have it. It throbs when I walk a few blocks and lately it even throbs while I am in bed at night. I can not see any veins sticking out so I don't know what to do.

When I was 19 and first taking birth control. My veins( mostly behind my knees) did this. They would throb sometimes stinging or burning. I quit taking the birth control pills (switched my birth control method) and this stopped happening, but the veins that had burst stayed. Let your doctor know, this tends to run in my family. It could be thrombophlebitis or venous stasis. Either case, it is best to have it checked by a Dr.

vericose veins..ouch
