Both estrogen anf progesterone can raise blood preassure -they are the main ingredients of BC PIlls.
ask your dr about mirena it is a iud type of birthcontrol This is because there is an increased risk of stroke and heart disease if you have hypertension. The pill also carries a slightly increased risk.
Adding the 2 together increases the risk.
Get your blood pressure controlled. It should be 130/80 or less.
there are other methods of birth control that dont put your health at risk.
I could not take the combined pill because of high blood pressure and I put on too much weight with it. I went on the mini-pill but I have proof in the form of a 1 year old that it is not effective.
