There are no effective medications for weight loss yet. I suspect that during most of our lifetimes we will find something..but not yet. All of these medications also have a large number of side effects.

So, concentrate on exercise and eating right. You will lose weight!

I don't think there is. I think the only way to lose weight is to watch what you eat and exercise. You also have to remember that there were some pills people were taking and had many side effects that caused them heart problems.
While some diet pills make take the weight off, it is likely that you will gain it all back when you get off the pills. The best way to take it off and keep it off is to do it naturally.

No, they all have side effects. Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

As far as I know, there are NO medications that do not have side-effects. Some may be more prominent than others; some people may have side-effects and others may not. But that doesn't mean that the possibility of side-effects is not likely. It's kind of like surgery.ALL surgery carries some risk. Some are mild; others may be life-threatening. It just depends of the type of surgery. Before trying any "diet" aids, you may want to check with your physician to be on the safe side. There could be some ingredient in the diet pill that you could be allergic to and most of us won't know if we are allergic to a particular ingredient until we've tried it. At least your physician can tell you what you can expect and what to do in case of emergency of allergic reaction.
