I have an IUD and within the last month everytime I have sex with my husband I begin to bleed heavily!?

Question: I have had the IUD for almost 3 years and I have never experienced this problem before. I was just wondering if this could be something serious I need to have checked out or is it normal?

Better go to your doctor, IUD placement in some cases is related to heavy bleeding during periods, but if you are having bleeding after sex, then, it may be Displaced IUD or something else(infection or some problem on your Cervix).It can be cancer also.

If IUD gets displaced it is dangerous, sex causes bleeding because the uterus contracts during orgasm and it can cause lacerations in your uterus.

Usually, you can feel the thread of IUD with just putting 1-2 fingers in the vagina, just to make sure that it is at the right place but if you don't feel the thread, probably, time to go to doctor, RIGHT AWAY.IT CAN BE DANGEROUS.
