In fact, a lot of us are safer every day because of women. Auto manufacturers will tell you that a dramatic increase in the number of women buying cars in the 80s and 90s put an intense demand on them to increase the safety of their vehicles, resulting in things like airbags and anti-lock brakes becoming the standard. Those innovations may or may not have been invented by women, but they were inspired by them.

I'm curious about your question, though: you seem to be saying that one is either a great inventor or one is just dumb (as though there are no other expressions of great intelligence.) So, what have YOU invented? Are you a great inventor, or just dumb?

And to answer that question, yes, there have been PLENTY of female inventors. Madame C.J Walker, who invented the the hot comb for straightening hair, and Marie Curie who discovered and promoted the use of radium.
