Has anyone ever experienced PCOS, when your period returns how long does it stay on, mine has been on for 10?

Question:
days, very light flow, Is this normal? I have a follow-up doctor's appointment next week.

Answers:
Normal, no..normal for PCOS, probably. I was diagnosed with PCOS three years ago and one thing I've found is that often it makes your periods completely unpredictable unless you're taking medication to regulate them. I had only 3-4 periods a year, and they were always very heavy and lasted a long time when they did show up. That was before I went on the pill. Now they come like clockwork, always on the same day, and always end on the same day. The pill might be an option for you if you aren't trying to conceive or don't have a problem with taking hormones. If you do want to get pregnant or want a regular cycle and aren't worried about contraception, you could look into taking metformin/glucophage. It's an insulin-regulating drug, but since insulin resistance is so closely linked to PCOS, it also helps many women with PCOS. Check out www.soulcysters.net, it's a great discussion board for women with PCOS.

I cannot answer your question. But I would justy like to show my support because I also have PCOS. My situation is different from most because I get a steady period every month. Good Luck.
When mine returned it was as normal as the periods before they went away.
