Fertility and pregnancy help! Please read all details before answering!?

Question:
I am late getting my period and the reason I am worried is because my husband and I use the IUD which is practically fool proof. According to the statistics the IUD is just as effective as sterilization. The other reason I am freaking out is that we have an eight month old son already, I don't know if my body let alone my life can handle another baby right now. I usually have my period pretty regularly on a 21 to 25 day cycle. It has been 32 days since the END of my last period. I am going to go and get a pregnancy test later today and bite the bullet, but I wanted to know if there were any other women out there that had gone through this. They say that some women on the hormone IUD can have irregular or a completely missed period, but I am on the copper IUD, and that usually doesn't effect cycles, not to mention I have had it for about 6 months, so any ill effects for the insertion should have stopped by now. There is also a pretty high chance of miscarriage because .>

Answers:
There's no way to know unless you take a test. If you are late for your period, it will certainly show positive if you are pregnant, and negative if you are not. There are all kinds of reasons, and sometimes no reason at all, that women are late for their periods.

Other Answers:
after you take some iud birthcontrol meds for a while you may have lights periods and there are some women who dont have a period at all.

The IUD totally messes with your system. I've known people who stop having their period at all while they're on it. Maybe your body is just taking longer to adjust to it than normal. Hopefully, everything will work out well for you!! Good luck! My recommendation: Stop using this product. Use another method such as no abstinence, regular Birth Control Pills or the pull out method. You can basically know when you are ovulating by counting 14 days after the first heavy flow of your period. During this time, do not have intercourse for two days and you will be safe.

Can't tell unless you take the test!lol

You've got to calm down. Call your doctor. He/she can help you with this. Do it now.

Among the side effects of the IUD are irregular and very heavy or painful periods. Calm Down. Talk to your doctor, and I hope you the best of the lucks. God Bless You. Im not sure if this will help but it might. I have been taking a birth control pill religously for over 3 years. there was one time where i was late and of course I was freakin out because i could always know what day I was going to start and almost down to what time. So of course I was stressed and freaking out, I still dont know what it was but I finally got it. If you are more than a few days late I would get a test, but if it has only been a day see if you can wait and if not try and get the morning after pill at a planned parent hood.

i know some women who use the IUD because after the first month or two it completely stops there period, and some use it because they have heavy periods and it just slows them down . good luck hun, and try not to stress out to much.
