actually, yes you can. 0.5% of women get pregnant within the first year of having their tubes tied. truth is, the mirena IUD, identified on this chart http://www.knowmycycle.com/contraceptive-effectiveness.aspx as LNg20, is more effective than female sterilization with only 0.1% of women getting pregnant the first year of use. its also reversible, should you decide later that you want another baby. say, god forbid, you get a divorce and want a baby with your next husband.
