Tampons question?
Question:
They kind of scare me O.o;
Answers:
It's not weird to be nervous about using them. I think most girl are. Once you start using them you will feel so much better. Pads toally suck. When you start using tampons you won't know how you lived without them. You can't feel them. They don't feel all gross. Just remember not to leave the same one in for over 8 hours. They are very safe.
Other Answers:
no
That is not a weird question at all.
Tampons are the ideal solution for active girls who play sports and especially swim, and even for other girls they are MUCH more comfortable than pads, they are cleaner than pads, and much more environmentally friendly than pads.
Tampons do not hurt, and they are not at all uncomfortable, though sometimes girls are a little bit uncomfortable with the idea of inserting them at first.
One way to get past your fear of using a tampon, is to become better acquainted with yourself. Some time when you are not on your period, but before your next period, and when you have some time to be alone, take a few minutes to explore and see what the whole area is about. This is something that is essential for any girl.
Get comfortable, use a hand mirror, and with your other hand spread yourself open and look around. It is not dirty, or ugly, or wrong in any way, it is your body, you should know what it is about and how it works. When you are comfortable, slip a finger inside a few inches.
Next time you have a period, you will be ready to give a tampon a try, and will have a good idea what sort of experience to expect. It is different, but it is not bad. Honestly a tampon is WAY better than a pad ever was. Don’t feel bad if you don’t get it quite right the first few times you try it – it can take a bit of practice. Just keep trying until you get it right. When it is right you won’t be able to feel it at all.
Using a tampon with an applicator is easier at first, but I think the OB without the applicator is easier, more comfy to put in, and much better for the environment. You will have to pick for yourself.
Which ever one you get, follow the instructions on the box, and do not leave it in for longer than the instructions say is safe.
No, I am 33 and I have never used one, I prefer my pads with wings. No not at all. It's a preference and also tampons can be very uncomfortable for some girls. I had the same question and started using slender tampons when I was 16 but went back to pads. It's worked for me ever since and I'm 35 now. It's what ever you feel most comfortable with for your body. Your not weird at all.

Do tampons hurt?
No. When you begin to menstruate, you are old enough to use Tampax® tampons and can use them right from the start. Tampons are inserted into the vagina through the same opening from which menstrual fluid leaves your body. This opening, in all but the very unusual situation, is sufficiently large to accommodate a Tampax® tampon.
By carefully and completely following the instructions given in our package insert, which is enclosed in each carton of Tampax® tampons, you will find that the use of Tampax® tampons is really quite easy. The package insert shows several positions that can be used to comfortably insert a tampon. While learning, it is helpful to relax, take your time and be patient. Some beginners have to try several times before they are able to insert a tampon. If you have difficulty, you may find using a small amount of lubricating jelly (not petroleum jelly) on and around the tip of the tampon and the outer tube will help to simplify insertion. When the tampon has been inserted correctly, you should not feel any discomfort.

Can you feel a tampon inside you?
When the tampon has been inserted correctly, you should not feel any discomfort. If you are able to feel the tampon, it probably has not been inserted far enough into the vagina. You should remove that tampon and insert another one.

I am very small. Do I need smaller size tampons than Tampax® tampons?
There is no medical reason to believe that women who are of small build require a specially designed tampon. We do know that very small women have babies of normal size and this indicates that their reproductive tract is within normal limits with respect to size. The absorbency of the tampon chosen should be based on the amount of menstrual flow and not the size of the user.
The Tampax® Lites, Light absorbency tampons have a slim applicator for easy, comfortable insertion.

How do you know when to change a tampon?
Tampons should be changed every 4-8 hours or more often if needed. Recognize that too frequent changing may cause some irritation.
If your tampon is saturated much sooner than 4-8 hours, try a tampon with more absorbent capacity. If after 4-8 hours you remove a tampon and white fiber is showing, switch to a lower absorbency tampon. Like all other girls and women, you will learn by experimentation which combination of absorbencies is best for you and how often you need to change the tampon.

Why does the blood pass the tampon and leak out?
When any tampon reaches the point of having absorbed its full capacity it will begin to allow leakage. There is also the possibility the tampon was not inserted correctly, or perhaps it was not the appropriate absorbency for your menstrual flow.

Is it all right to use two Tampax® tampons at one time?
No. We specifically recommend that only one tampon at a time be used. The use of two tampons at the same time will not allow each tampon to expand properly to be in the best position to achieve its maximum absorbency potential. Also, one of the withdrawal cords may be pushed up inside the vagina. Our Super Plus absorbency size was designed for those individuals with extra-heavy flow. They should be used when Supers do not provide adequate protection.

Do you have to use shield or pad with a tampon?
Sometimes it is helpful to wear a panty shield when you are first learning to use tampons until you learn how often to change the tampon and which absorbency is best for you. Then, when used according to our instructions, pantiliners are optional.

How do you know which to use - tampons or pads?
The choice of menstrual protection is an individual decision. It is our belief that the use of Tampax® tampons helps to make your period less stressful by allowing you to continue all of your normal activities, including swimming. In addition, internal protection prevents anyone else from knowing you are menstruating, internal protection also means natural odor protection. The problem of disposal is solved by using our tampon and paper applicator since they both can be flushed away. Tampax® tampons also come with a plastic applicator, since some women prefer them.Tampon QuestionsMaybe you’re curious about using tampons for the first time. Maybe you’ve .
