Is is true that birth control pills regulate your period, if you have really irregular periods?
Question:
Answers:
Yes they do. I stopped having my period for about 8 months one time and when the dr. put me on the pill, my period returned to normal. The flow was lighter and I could always know when to expect my period to start.
Other Answers:
yes because the hormones in them tell your body when its okay to release an unfertilized egg. i've been on birth control for seven years and i know EXACTLY when I'll get my period and EXACTLY when it will be done. nothing is better than that. except maybe not having a period at all which you can accomplish by doing the depo shot, which i wouldn't recommend, once i stopped doing the shot, i bled for like three months.
yes they do.my best answer to doing that is the patch though once a week thats all you have to do
Yes. My pills make me have my period every 4th Tuesday. It's great to know exactly when. Go for it. You'll feel much better!
they have worked for me that way. I used to be really irregular and now that I'm on the pill (which I am on partially for that reason), I'm pretty regular and can usually tell when I'm going to start.
It worked for me. I used to not have them at all sometimes or have them all month long and since I started the pill, it's been regular.
yeah i know some people who only take it for that reason.
I know lots of people who have gone on the pill to regulate periods. My experience has always been extremely regular on the pill
Yes it does help your period's regulate..
Yes for sure they shorten your period and also keep you regular. They also make your period less heavy. But the down side is that sometimes you have to try several kinds of pills to find the one that works best for you, and many of them make you gain weight. If you smoke..yikes, increased risk of cancer.
Yes they are used to regulate ones menstrual cycle, but finding out why your are not regular I believe is more important than just regulating. Dont settle for the quick fix.
Birth control works by telling your body that it's pregnant, stopping it from ovulating. When you take the placebo, you stop giving your body that message, which gives it just enough time to have a period. Then you get back on the pill and your body doesn't ovulate. If you don't release an egg, you can't get fertilized (pregnant). So, it should regulate your periods once you're on the right dosage. For instance, I have really irregular periods, so I had to be on a little bit higher dosage of a triphasic pill. Other women take other things. So yes, it should if your doc has you on this right dosage. Why don't you go see your doctor?
yes.
with some pills it appears that way but if you have an underlying problem that is causing the irregularity that would not go away so it doesnt help that way. in a very few women the cause for the irregularity cannot be determined by the doctor even after tests and if there seems to be no current sign of disease or altered physiology then maybe you can use the pills to help with the irregularity but then again its not necessary that thye would help. it depends from person to person and the combo birth control pills only (estrogen+progesterone) not the progesterone only ones.
yes it levels out your hormones
Yes it does. And even better if you are going on holiday or something and your period is due you can carry on taking it without the seven day break and you won't get a period until your next break. Don't do this for any more than three months without a break though or you will get spot bleeding and longer periods than usual.
Yes, they do. You will know exactly when your period will be each month. You take 3 weeks of hormone pills and the last week are pretty much sugar (reminder) pills to remind you when to start new pack. You will get your period during that last week. The pill also reduces cramping and amount of flow.
Yes they do and they work very well.
You take pills for 3 weeks and on the 4th week you take placebo pills and get your period.
I figured you would be really smart. (you know, the glasses and all)
