What is this pain in my side?

Question:

I have a cough at the moment (thats not why im asking this question), its just that whenever I cough I feel a pain in my left side. Any ideas as to what this might be or what organ is in my left side. Its just above my hip

very possible you have a bladder infection. could be simply an overstretched muscle. how long has it been happening and did the pain start with this recent cough. do you smoke. are you taking any medication and what is your medical history relevant to those two facts and those areas of your body. here is probably not the best place to start. you may want to go to webMD.com or check with an internal medical specialist depending on how long it's been happening and how sever the pain is etc. good luck - please take care of yourself - love
