Girls, does milk really help PMS?

Question:
I hate PMSing, and i heard that milk helped it...is it true? if so how much do you have to drink?or does that matter?

Answers:
Many treatments have been tried for easing the symptoms of PMS. However, no treatment has been found that works for everyone. A combination of lifestyle changes and other treatment may be needed. If your PMS is not so bad that you need medical help, a healthier lifestyle may help you feel better and cope with symptoms.

*Adopt a healthier way of life. Exercise regularly, get enough sleep, choose healthy foods, don't smoke, and find ways to manage stress in your life.

*Try avoiding excess salt, sugary foods, caffeine, and alcohol, especially when you are having PMS symptoms.

*Be sure that you are getting enough vitamins and minerals. Take a multivitamin every day that includes 400 micrograms of folic acid. A calcium supplement with vitamin D can help keep bones strong and may help with PMS symptoms.

*In more severe cases, drugs such as diuretics, ibuprofen, birth control pills, or antidepressants may be used.

i heard that it makes ur period longer.
no it makes you feel fat and heavy
the calcium in the milk is sopposed to help, i dont know if it's an old wives tale but when i was in highschool i drank a ton of milk and didnt get cramps now i dont drink it much and get them a lot. Maybe theres something to it.
Milk never helped me, but drinking more water during the day does. It's supposed to help with symptoms like bloating. Try drinking water instead of soda or coffee, should make you feel a little better.
never heard of that, exercise works best for me
I heard it is supposed to help with cramps. That's what a lot of old people say. And old geezers are usually right.
ive never heard of it, everyones different. my friend drinks milk and gets bloated so idk. i drink it and i feel the same.
Not for me...

For me chocolate helps with PMS...

But once the period is there I have to take prescription medication if I do not want to go up the walls (I take Flurbiprofen). That's my only way to go through it in peace and without any pain.
i don't know about milk helping out the pms. i do know that when i drink milk whilst on my period i get major cramps. i don't know why. chocolate helps my pms. not just any chocolate either i mean quality choc like godiva, see's or tolberone.
