I am unable to sleep alot lately. I have been told it could be menapause. Has anyone gone though it too.?

Question:
If so how did you go about gettin back to a normal sleep pattern.

Answers:
Yes..it all has to run it's course. Nice warm shower or bath..cool night clothes and tylenol pm. If you can't sleep after that just lie there and rest..so your body can get the rest it needs. It will stop eventually.then you can love menopause for the gift that it is! I think it's wonderful! I do not take any hormones.

Other Answers:
check with doctor about hormone levels and take a sleeping pill at night.
My first question would be - how old are you? did you ever have
a hysterectomy? that would throw you into early menopause.
Are you depressed or stressed out? That always causes me
not to sleep.

Are you on any meds? Maybe a work-up by your OBGYN
would help. Do you have night sweats also? I take Black
Cohosh - my OBYN told me it would help & by Gosh it does!

If you can't sleep - maybe a sleeping pill is in order. Ask your
Doctor for sure.
Usually menopause doesn't start till almost 50 - but if you had
a hysterectomy it could toss you right in there. I did and thats
what happened to me -

if it is menopause and your not taking a hrt I would say just deal with it as it will go away on it's own.sometimes being in a disrupted sleep pattern is better than having to take a hrt which can cause you more problems. I know several people who are going through it and say, yes sleep disturbances are a problem and they are not taking a hrt and just dealing with what it part of life.. I know people who have taken an hrt and have wound up with uterine cancer..
I would say just try to rest when you can, sometimes just 15 minutes in the afternoon can do a world of good.
Good Luck
During menopause, you usually go through a hormonal imbalance that causes you to lose a lot of sleep. I'd suggest going to your doctor and asking him for a sleeping pill, or take a warm bath and relaxing before you go to bed.
