WHaT IS A STAFF INFECTION??

Question:
SO WHAT IS IT?

Answers:
Staphylococcus aureus, often referred to simply as "staph," are bacteria healthy people can carry on the skin or in the nose. Staph bacteria commonly cause skin infections. Most of these infections are minor, appearing as pimples and boils, and are treated without antibiotics. In addition to skin infections, staph bacteria can cause infections in the blood, in the bones and in the lungs (pneumonia). Most serious staph bacteria infections are treated with an antibiotic related to penicillin. However, over the past 50 years, some staph bacteria have become resistant to antibiotics, including the commonly used penicillin-related antibiotics. These resistant bacteria are called methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.
It's staph - staphylococcus. A bacterial infection.

A Staph Infection is an infection caused by the staphalococus(sp) bacterium. It's a nasty infection that, if not treated, can cause numerous problems (secondary infections, gangrene, etc.). I've had a staph infection before, that I got after routine surgery. It was not a pretty sight. I was on Amoxicillan 1000mg for about 2 weeks and had the nasty looking red welt that covered half of my lower stomach. Not only did I have to worry about the staph infection, but I got a yeast infection from hell from all of the antibiotics! It was horrible. But, enough with the gory details. Suffice it to say, a staph infection is nothing to play around with. I hope I helped to answer your question.
