Any suggestions on controlling temper?

Question:
I am a manager and sometimes my associates will error and I do not control my temper at all. I get angry at them, then I will calm right down and regret it. The company I work for does not like this type of reaction and I need to get it under control.

Any suggestions as a quick remedy and then also as a long term remedy? Anyone ever had this and remedied it?

My sign is a Libra and everywhere I have checked, it says I am short tempered and people have to learn to live with it. I would like to get it under better control. I dont wanna live with it and I dont want anyone else to either. I dont like being like that.

Please any suggestions on things that have worked? (websites, books, thought, anything)

Answers:
If you have already been talked to/diciplined at woirk over this issue, one way would be to look in your company's resources and see if they have any anger management/stress management classes/courses. You would be surprised how many corporations do have access to these types of services.

Another would be to talk to your family doctor about anger management, or even look into your community for courses on such. Many area mental health facilities have courses for this at little to no cost. ( sliding scale)

You can go some other methods as well, such as biofeedback, excercise, meditation, tension ball, etc.

I have found that stopping every time you are about to yell, and counting to at least 60, then questioning yourself helps. You can walk/look aorund while counting... then ask yourself wether the situation will be negatively affected by the problem/mistake a few weeks from now, months from now, years from now. If the mistake has no longer term affects other than inconvenience, chalk it up to a minor snaffoo in your mind, not worth the time or the energy to explode about. Your time will be better spent to quickly remedy the problem, and go on about your day.

You are fortunate that you recognize you have a temper problem. Many people deny that they do, until they have lost jobs, relationships, etc. and then its much harder to try to fix the damage. This type of short tempered behavior is actually bad for your health, and of course, bad for your career and social life as well, so it is really in your best interest to address it thoroughly. If it were me, I would recognize that it is in my control, that I can conquer it, and would make it a goal every day to try to, and seek some professional help to make sure I ended the problem and got on with my life in the most positive way I could. Good luck.
You should be taking a really good Pollen Extract and Calcium Mineral Formula this should calm you down.
