What would cause a through - and - through hole in the labia??

One of my good friends recently told me that she has a perfectly circle shaped, nickle sized hole in her labia., she is afraid of going to the Dr because she doesnt want to hear bad news; there is absolutely nothing dealing with this on any health websites either of us have been able to find. Hopefully that means it's nothing too serious?? She says it doesnt hurt & never has caused problems, she just discovered it one day out of the blue. Anyone have any ideas?..be serious

That's bizarre. Does it bother her, like does it hurt or is it infected or anything?

No STD that I know of would cause that without some other hard to miss symptoms. Maybe she was just born that way.

You should tell her to go to the doctor. My first thought is that it probably isn't anything wrong. But, if it IS bad news, something like that is only going to get worse if she doesn't go to the Dr.

I would say it either formed that way or she had some trauma to it as a child and doesn't remember.

It could be just one of those odd things that show up on our bodies! I have an extra nipple below my right breast. Tell her to put an 8 ga ring in it, and consider it a free piercing! Ok, ok, ok, seriously, she could probably get the hole repaired if it really bothers her. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I have no idea. It could be a childhood injury that she doesn't remember. But talk her into going to the doctor to get it checked out, she does not want it to become infected.
