Are you sure you are getting hot flashes, i.e., power surges, as my wife puts it. At 18, that's unlikely unless you have something else happening in your reproductive system, like cyst or irregular periods, etc. If you get hot flashes at night - lots of perspiration to make sheets wet, too hot to wear clothes, etc., I suggest you visit your doctor ob/gyn and get checked to be safe.
