is it normal to get yeast infections right before i start my period?

Question:

Answers:
Yes it is!

This happens to me quite often. The reason being is the hormonal changes you go thru right before your period can effect the Ph of your vagina, resulting in a yeast infection.

The best suggestion is to go to your GYN and talk to her about it. She can prescribe Diflucan, and/or other treatment options.

I've found that taking AZO YEAST tablets the week before my period is very helpful at keeping the infections at bay. (look in the feminine hygiene section of your drug store, it's a yellow bottle with black writing). Vagisil cream and wipes are also very good to relieve itch.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better.

sorry no not really talk with your mom about it
Everyone is different. Some people get severe yeast infections before a period, and some don't. Some people (like me!) get cramps AND yeast infections. Ack. Just know that it will happen, and try taking some acidopholus when you think you'll get your period.
yes that can happen. If you find that you get yeast infections regulary, check with your doctor. My doctor told me to drink plenty of water, and try to eat yogurt in the morning. The ingredients in yogurt helps control the yeast that builds up.
I have the same issue, again it can be caused because of the diffrence in PH, try cutting back on sugar and drink cranberry juice ( I know sounds weird but it works) I hate cranberry straight but try mixing with grape juice cuts some of the bitter.
yes, happens to me all the time
don't let them get out of control though - that could get serious
